Dusapin is one of the most eminent composers of his time. He is highly productive and has written more than one hundred works to date. The cello occupies an important place in his oeuvre with no less than six works for solo cello, two cello concertos and some duos. This anthology presents us with an overview of the repertoire for the first time. Here, too, the metaphor of becoming otherwise is subject to a remarkable evolution. The composer takes us into a world of exceptional musical expression, broad melodic lines, hushed sound atmospheres and mysterious musical ‘becomings’ through the use of highly imaginative melodies and infectious rhythms.
